Where to start in 2026?

There are some interesting guides here but they are kinda old so I wounder if they are still valid in 2026.
I'm thinking of learning how to install a server so I can learn how to create patches to submit to fix older quests that I see are broken and wounder where do I start so my patches I send in are valid for latest game version firestorm run. would like a nudge in right direction so I don't end up doing something that wont work.

For simpler patches, you can inform yourself through the TrinityCore forums, but it's not extremely well made for beginners and honestly the best you could do is just to create your own local server and see how everything works.
