Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) Survival Hunter DPS Guide - Shadowlands 9.2.7 Overview Spoiler Strengths Weaknesses High Mobility. Consistent single target damage. Powerful AoE. Ridiculously strong AoE with tier-set. Temporary Damage Immunity. High self-sustain. Can tame cute pets. No unique utility. Lack of single-target burst. Reliant on pet to generate resources and do damage. Lack of impactful DPS cooldowns in base kit. Best Covenant Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Covenant Choice Changes with Patch 9.2 for Survival Hunters Despite lacking any specific tuning or balance changes to Survival Hunter, Eternity's End shook up the optimal covenant selection for Raiding. With the ability to equip a second Covenant-focused Legendary and Patch 9.2 reintroducing tier-set armor to the game, there was, even more, to consider when choosing the Covenant for optimal play.Once you obtain the two-piece set bonus, Mad Bombardier, the most optimal Covenant selection for single-target (or low-target) raid encounters will be Night Fae. For mass AoE encounters, Kyrian is still the strongest Covenant. With the tier-set heavily encouraging use of Wildfire Bomb (and by extension Kill Command) we can no longer afford to use global cooldowns on Venthyr's Flayed Shot or the Kill Shot it grants us, as we need to focus on throwing those bombs. You can read exactly what the tier set is here: Best Survival Hunter Covenants for Raiding Single/Low Target Raid Fights —Night Fae - With our tier-set pushing Wildfire Cluster as the go-to Legendary for Raid, Night Fae is now an excellent choice for single or low-target Raid fights! The reason this is a great Covenant to pick for single or low-target fights is due to the Covenant Legendary, Fragments of the Elder Antlers, being powerful in any situation with 4 or fewer targets. High Target Raid Fights —Kyrian - Much like 9.1, Kyrian brings an insane amount of power and synergy to our AoE playstyle. Resonating Arrow with Enfeebled Mark and Effusive Anima Accelerator is only stronger with all the extra Wildfire Bomb// Wildfire Cluster we'll have with our tier-set. Even though Pact of the Soulstalkers isn't as flashy or immediately impactful (regarding your own performance) as the other Covenant Legendary items, the sheer power Kyrian brings through Soulbinds more than makes up for it. The reason this Covenant is so powerful in high target encounters is due to the cooldown reduction Effusive Anima Accelerator provides with frequent or large amounts of adds as well as the very high value Hammer of Genesis brings with free Haste. Ultimately, this will depend entirely on the Raid fight itself. In a primarily single-target environment or a fight with a small amount of long living adds, you will preferably use Night Fae to maximize your Fragments of the Elder Antlers and Wild Spirits. In a fight with high amounts of adds, Kyrian is the recommended choice to capitalize on how often you will cast Resonating Arrow (and because Night Fae will be weaker due to Fragments of the Elder Antlers not functioning as well.) To fully optimize your experience as Kyrian in Raid, you should preferably be grouped with 4 other DPS specs that can capitalize on the critical strike gains from Pact of the Soulstalkers. Best Survival Hunter Covenants for Mythic+ For Mythic+, we recommend Kyrian. The power that Resonating Arrow brings coupled with Mikanikos’s soulbinds (primarily Effusive Anima Accelerator) meshes very well with Mythic+ damage patterns and turns Wildfire Cluster into an absolute monstrous source of AoE damage, especially with our tier-set. Additionally, Hammer of Genesis provides a high amount of free Haste with very high uptime in most Mythic + pull patterns.Currently, the other Covenants have too many weaknesses or are simply not as powerful enough as Kyrian to consider for any sort of competitive M+ build. Venthyr eats up too many global cooldowns from Flayed Shot and Kill Shot, which conflicts with our tier-set. Necrolord is stuck in an unfortunate position where Death Chakram does not scale in AoE nor does the damage amplifier buff our main source of AoE: Wildfire Bomb. Additionally, the more frequent burst AoE from Bag of Munitions has the same niche (low cooldown, burst AoE ability) as Kyrian, but is weaker than the Kyrian package. Finally, Night Fae is almost competitive, but unfortunately is still capped to 5 targets with Wild Spirits and Fragments of the Elder Antlers does not work in the vast majority of Mythic+ pulls. As always, it is important to consider your group's composition and if you are missing any Covenants for the special utility in the dungeon you plan to do. However, as mentioned above, it is generally recommended to play Kyrian in M+. Talents and Builds Spoiler Spoiler Recommended Survival Hunter Builds This is the optimal build when you have access to Mad Bombardier. Utilizing our tier-set bonus and Night Fae for single-target/low-target fights or Kyrian for high-target AoE, this build deals immense damage, perfect for almost every situation. This is suggested for Raid (both single-target and multiple-target) and Mythic+. Tier 1 (Level 15) : Alpha Predator is the best recommendation. It provides a benefit in both single-target and AoE encounters. The extra charge on Kill Command has great synergy with Tip of the Spear, Wildfire Infusion, and Mad Bombardier while also providing a small damage increase to Kill Command. While it's easy to use, it can be deceptively hard to master over the alternatives as Kill Command will have a varying priority based on the state of your Kill Command charges. This talent, if played correctly (or even incorrectly!) will lower your overall downtime substantially. Tier 2 (Level 25) : Guerrilla Tactics is almost always the go-to pick for this row. A very strong talent in both ST and AoE. The increased damage is great and the second charge really smooths out the AoE rotation, ensuring you do not need to worry about wasting cooldown reduction from Carve while also offering increased synergy with Wildfire Infusion. This talent becomes practically mandatory with Mad Bombardier. Tier 3 (Level 30) : Generally, this tier is up to your preference. Natural Mending will typically be the go-to as it works well with the constant stream of Focus we use and enhances our already nice self-sustain. Trailblazer can be used in encounters with forced downtime where you need to avoid mechanics, such as Painsmith or Sylvanas. Finally, Camouflage is mostly used in PvP—but the stealth can be used in Mythic+ in lieu of an invisibility potion if you'd prefer to use a combat potion later on in the dungeon. Tier 4 (Level 35) : In most situations, you should go with Bloodseeker as it does not require additional GCDs and has no focus cost, while also working in AoE and single-target. Mostly passive and provides essentially the best damage for the talent row in Single Target and AoE situations alike. Any unique target is either considered "bleeding" or not; Stacking Internal Bleeding Bloodseeker on one target will still only give 1 stack. An interesting part of this talent as it works on ANY bleed effect on a target. For example, a Guardian or Feral Druid's DoT effects will also provide this attack speed buff to you and your pet which can have a large effect in AoE. The maximum stacks you can have on the attack speed bonus of Bloodseeker is 10, at which point you and your pet auto attack twice as fast. Tier 5 (Level 40) : Generally, this tier is also a personal preference and depends on the encounter. Born To Be Wild for more frequent Aspects, Binding Shot for extra AoE CC, or Posthaste for more mobility. That being said, Posthaste will typically be your pick in Raid as it directly lets you DPS more by freeing you from movement impairment and moving you around more frequently. Binding Shot is great for M+ and your tank will certainly thank you for such invaluable utility. Tier 6 (Level 45) : Tip of the Spear is generally the go-to pick in any situation once you have obtained your Mad Bombardier. This talent is much less complicated than it looks—a common misconception is that you need to hit 3 stacks before you use Raptor Strike. The damage increase gained by Tip of the Spear is additive, and since our primary spender in single-target is Raptor Strike (regardless of stacks), it doesn't matter whether we are hitting (1750 [ 3 stacks of Tip of the Spear ] , 1000 [0 stacks], 1000 [0 stacks],) or (1250 [1 stack of Tip of the Spear ] , 1250 [1 stack of Tip of the Spear ], 1250[1 stack of Tip of the Spear ]. The bottleneck with this talent tends to be Tip of the Spear stacks themselves, not Focus regeneration. In AoE, Tip of the Spear tends to see little usage because a Serpent Sting still outperforms even a 3-stack Raptor Strike thanks to its Nature damage type and Haste scaled DoT damage. The talent itself is affected by many bits of small synergy, generally allowing it to compete with the other talents. 9.2 has given it the final piece to complete that puzzle thanks to Mad Bombardier. While the set bonus does not directly impact Tip of the Spear, when using the recommended build, there are situations during Pheromone Bomb where casting Kill Command regardless of your Focus is preferable, which will inevitably generate more Tip of the Spear stacks than you are "supposed to" compared to a rotation without the set bonus. Tier 7 (Level 50) : Wildfire Infusion will be your go-to choice most of the time even without Mad Bombardier. Once you get Mad Bombardier there is no reason to pick the other talents if you want to be optimal. Legendaries Spoiler Spoiler Double Legendaries for Survival Hunter Patch 9.2 adds the option for players to equip two legendary items instead of one. This unlock is done by finishing Chapter 7 of the Zereth Mortis campaign. With this unlock, players are able to either use their Waist of Unity or craft a second legendary using Memory of Unity. While you have complete freedom for your first legendary, your second legendary can only be your Covenant legendary. Both Waist of Unity or legendaries created with Memory of Unity change their effect based on your current covenant, so you don't need to craft four separate second legendaries. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Vigilant Guardian Marksman's Advantage works on a lot of the damage intake on this fight. Notable ability is Exposed Core. Top yourself off with Exhilaration after Exposed Core or Spike of Creation explosions. Focus down Pre-Fabricated Sentry when killing the adds. Aspect of the Turtle to avoid lethal damage from Detonate in emergency situations if you aren't able to make it to the shield. Disengage and Soulshape/ Door of Shadows can be useful to avoid Deresolution. 2. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Skolex Avoid Retch with Disengage. Try to avoid standing near the tanks due to Wormhole Jaws. Depending on the timings determined by your Raid Leader, the Born To Be Wild talent will let you use Aspect of the Eagle on every Ravening Burrow. 3. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Dausegne Aspect of the Turtle can entirely avoid Disintegration Halo. Soulshape/ Door of Shadows can also be used to avoid this mechanic. Marksman's Advantage and Resilience of the Hunter are great for reducing incoming damage—especially for Inevitable Dominion. Reversal of Fortune can provide free Focus when you interrupt Domination Bolt . Saving your cooldowns such as Coordinated Assault or Wild Spirits can be held to cleave down Domination Core when needed. 4. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Artificer Xy'mox Aspect of the Turtle can entirely avoid Forerunner Rings. Soulshape/ Door of Shadows can also be used to avoid this mechanic. During the add phases, have Xy Acolyte as your priority target to ensure it does not wipe the raid with Hyperlight Ascension. Aspect of the Turtle can be used to deactivate Continuum Stasis Trap to provide more room. On Heroic difficulty and up, the Traps will Rearm after a while.. 5. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Prototype Pantheon Disengage with Posthaste can be used to quickly navigate to a Bastion's Ward. If you are not around any other players, Aspect of the Turtle can also be used to protect yourself. Night Fae particularly shines on this fight from the immense Fragments of the Elder Antlers value. Aspect of the Eagle can provide value when Necrotic Ritualsts spawn in. Reversal of Fortune can provide free Focus when you interrupt Gloom Bolt and Anima Bolt . 6. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Lihuvim The knockback from Acquisitions Automa and Cosmic Shift can be dealt with using Disengage or Harpoon. Feign Death can be used to negate Degenerate from Degeneration Automa. 7. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Halondrus Disengagecan be used to pass through the circles spinning around the boss without taking much (or any) damage. Aspect of the Turtle can be useful during Eternity Overdrive if there are many Ephemeral Mote in the same spot, allowing you to kick them all back continuously without taking damage. During Relocation Form it is best to stay ahead of Halondrus so you do not fall behind when Shatter finishes casting. use your mobility tools ( Aspect of the Eagle, Aspect of the Cheetah, Disengage, Harpoon) to stay ahead at all times. 8. Survival Hunter Top Builds for Anduin Wrynn Many of the adds were susceptible to CC such as Binding Shot and Intimidation. This includes Anduin's Doubt. In Heroic or higher, during the intermission Monstrous Soul will need to be focused down as a priority when it is below 35% HP as it will cast Necrotic Detonation. During Blasphemy. Aspect of the Eagle can be used to deal damage while you navigate the mechanic. Wildfire Cluster, paired with First Strike and Wild Hunt Tactics as well as Hammer of Genesis provide immense funnel value during the Fallen King intermission. as well as helping cleaving down the Monstrous Soul. Mythic+ - Tips Spoiler De Other Side Spoiler Clearing the outer ring This part of the guide details the enemies that make up that router ring of the dungeon. As this dungeon can be done in any order, we will start from the outer ring. The only restriction is that the last boss, Mueh’zala, will not spawn until the other bosses are defeated. There are a lot of useful opportunities to use Tranquilizing Shot against enemies here. Risen Warlord uses Undying Rage—this ability is a very high priority for you to remove. Additionally, Death Speaker casts Death's Embrace on enemies. If you have a mage, let them Spellsteal this buff. Otherwise, remove it. If you are Night Fae, you can use the Urn on a Enraged Spirit to interrupt Rage midcast. This will prevent the enemy from attempting to use it immediately afterwards. If you use the Urn to stun the Raging Spirit after Rage has been cast, it will attempt to use it once the stun ends. Mueh’zala You can use a combination of Aspect of the Cheetah, Disengage, and Aspect of the Turtle to make dealing with Master of Death easier. You can even use Aspect of the Eagle to play it extra safe. Clearing to Xy’exa Binding Shot is especially useful here with the typical high density pulls. Xy’exa You can use Aspect of the Turtle to avoid/negate Explosive Contrivance in an emergency. While you are falling after using a Displacement Trap you can use Disengage or Harpoon to ignore the falling damage. Aspect of the Eagle can be used to keep yourself at range momentarily to spread Arcane Lightning to your ranged friends. Clearing to the Manastorms A lot of the trash mobs in this area cast dangerous abilities that need to be interrupted ASAP: Lubricate, Self-Cleaning Cycle, and Essential Oil. Thankfully, each of the mobs that cash these are susceptible to Muzzle, Intimidation, or even Freezing Trap. The Manastorms Despite being melee, Survival does a respectable amount of damage at range temporarily. Keep this in mind if any Experimental Squirrel Bomb escape and need to be disarmed. Clearing to Hakkar Atal'ai Devoted transformation can be temporarily stopped with Intimidation or Freezing Trap Atal'ai Deathwalker post-death ghost form can be dispelled and immediately killed with Tranquilizing Shot. Hakkar Aspect of the Eagle can be useful if Corrupted Blood is getting out of control in melee. Mists of Tirna Scithe Spoiler Clearing to Ingra Maloch This part of the guide details the enemies from the entrance of the dungeon, up to the 1st boss—these enemies can be very dangerous if not handled correctly. If using the shortcut, a pack of Drust Spiteclaw will be the first mobs you encounter, use Tranquilizing Shot ( Arcane Torrent if you are Blood Elf) to dispel Dying Breath. This can be especially deadly if the pack is pulled together with the next pack. Avoid the Tirnenn Villager blue frontal cone attack, You can use Disengage to quickly reposition yourself if needed. this will deal heavy damage and disorient you for 4 seconds if hit. Tirnenn Villager will occasionally cast Overgrowth, an uninterruptible channel that will trap the player in an attackable pod if the channel ends. The channel can both be Feign Death or Aspect of the Turtle to avoid the trap. If another player is targeted, prioritize damaging the seed they're trapped in to free them. Drust Harvester will cast Harvest Essence and Spirit Bolt, ideally both get interrupted, but Harvest Essence should be prioritized. Ingra Maloch Focus Droman Oulfarran. Droman will cast Droman's Wrath on Ingra Maloch when at 20% health. Make sure you have your damage cooldowns ready for this. Dodge the blue swirlies during Tears of the Forest and and try to position yourself as such that Repulsive Visage won't walk you into the blue swirlies (A fear effect will always attempt to move the feared unit directly away from the source of the fear effect, so in this case you will run away from Ingra Maloch) Clearing to Mistcaller Lots of enemies leading up to the next boss have frontal cone or point blank AoE attacks. As a melee DPS, you need to be mindful of where you're standing. It's extremely important to prevent Nourish the Forest from going out. Either interrupt this or use Tranquilizing Shot if an interrupt is missed. This heals a ridiculous amount. Mistcaller At 70%, 40%, and 10% HP, the boss will split into copies—plan your CD use accordingly. You have a lot of options during Freeze Tag. You can use Freezing Trap, Scare Beast, or Binding Shot on the spawn to keep it under CC. Clearing to Tred'ova Keep Stimulate Resistance and Stimulate Regeneration interrupted. Stimulate Resistance can be removed with Tranquilizing Shot. Dodge the green swirls on the ground cast by Spinemaw Gorger. These will deal a lot of damage and knock you far away—almost definitely off of the map. You can pull of some sick plays with Harpoon or Disengage if you have fast enough reflexes to save you from falling to your death. Pay attention to Spinemaw Reaver. These mobs cast a pretty nasty poison DoT on any random player that can stack out of control. If needed, use Aspect of the Turtle to avoid taking more stacks can help you stay alive. Tred'ova It is very important to interrupt Parasitic Domination. It isn't a fast cast, but the boss can get quite hectic and you may be forced out of melee (and Muzzle) range. Failing to interrupt the cast will result in the target being stunned, mind controlled, or disoriented until the parasite is killed. When targeted by Mind Link, use Disengage or Aspect of the Cheetah and move away from your party members until all the blue links break. You can preemptively see who it is cast on as the boss will face its target—use this time to move away beforehand. Tred'ova will often cast Acid Expulsion. While normally you can side-step these, you'll need to pay more attention as the boss will learn how you and your party dodge the swirls and manipulate future casts to replicate your maneuvers. Necrotic Wake Spoiler Clearing to Blightbone A lot of the mobs here cast some pretty nasty abilities. Thankfully, we have many ways to interrupt them. Muzzle, Freezing Trap, or Intimidation. Drain Fluids is a particularly dangerous ability to look out for. Blightbone When targeted by Heaving Retch, move away from the rest of the group so the adds don't spawn right under the group. You can use Binding Shot to keep the adds clumped up, and avoid them from reaching the group. If you allow these adds to gain too many stacks it can easily result in a wipe. Clearing to Amarath Zolramus Necromancer can afflict random players with Grim Fate, move away and use Aspect of the Eagle to continue damaging the necromancers. The nearby adds are virtually invulnerable and die as soon as the Necromancer dies. With Wildfire Cluster you can continue to Carve despite this and the free CDR will result in more bombs on your primary target—free funnel damage! Nar'zudah is often skipped, but if not, you’ll have to deal with his Grim Fate in a similar fashion. He will also cast Dark Shroud, granting immunity to physical attacks and dealing heavy AoE damage to your party. Fortunattely, this can be removed with Tranquilizing Shot. Skeletal Marauder have a few tricks to them. Keep Rasping Scream interrupted. Pay special attention to Boneshatter Shield—if this shield is broken before it expires it deal massive damage to the Marauder Skeletal Marauder have a few tricks to them. Keep Rasping Scream interrupted. Pay special attention to Boneshatter Shield—if this shield is broken before it expires it deal massive damage to the Marauder Skeletal Monstrosity is another mob that is frequently skipped. However, Disengage is a great tool to avoid almost all of its AoE attacks. Amarath Skeletal Monstrosity Every so often, Amarth will cast Final Harvest. This will cause the corpses of the minions spawned by Land of the Dead to explode for heavy damage in a relatively small radius of 8 yards. If any of the adds are still alive you will instead get hit no matter where you stand. However, the adds are unable to explode if they are crowd controlled by any means, so you can salvage a situation like this by using Intimidation on an add that is still standing or using Freezing Trap ahead of time. Clearing to Stichflesh The Separation Assistant will cast Morbid Fixation, fixating on a random target and increasing their damage dealt by 100% but slowing themselves massively. This can easily be dealt with by simply running away and using Aspect of the Eagle to continue damage. Alternatively the fixate can be broken by using Feign Death. In dodgy situations the mechanic can be blocked with Aspect of the Turtle or external immunities such as Hand of Hand of Protection. Stitchflesh Embalming Ichor is targeted on random players, leaving a small puddle on the floor dealing heavy damage if stood in for too long. it is best to not be anywhere near the platform Stitchflesh is standing on to make the next mechanic easier to deal with. Once Surgeon Stitchflesh is off the platform, it will occasionally cast Morbid Fixation, which can be dealt with the same way as before. ( Feign Death, Aspect of the Eagle, Aspect of the Turtle). If the Abomination is still alive, you can interrupt this with the add's Meat Hook. Nalthor Nalthor the Rimebinder will occasionally cast Frozen Binds. Since the cast time is around 1 second, you can predetermine who it is cast on and quickly use your Cunning pet's Master's Call to make you or allies immune to roots, completely avoiding the mechanic. If this is cast on yourself, you can quickly get out of range of your party and use Disengage—provided you are talented into Posthaste—to clear the root yourself. Comet Storm repeatedly causes ice shards to hit all the players and everyone standing near them. It is quite easy for us to dodge, given our ranged heavy ability kit. If you are playing with other melee consider using Aspect of the Eagle in order to make the area around the boss a bit less hectic to dodge for them. Dark Exile is cast on a random DPS player (which you can technically avoid Feign Death, but it will be recast). This will have you perform a small mini gauntlet of avoiding environmental attacks with an objective to reach the end and kill the summoner add. After that, quickly click the Kyrian which will fly you back up to the boss platform. Any sort of mobility will help getting you through faster, such as Aspect of the Cheetah, and you could even use Aspect of the Turtle to completely ignore any of the ground effects and directly run to the add. After you end up back on the platform you will gain a 100% crit buff for a long duration. Additionally, a few seconds after you land, a debuff will expire on your character and leave a very dangerous patch of ice on the ground—before you go back to the boss try to place this on the edge of the arena. Spires of Ascension Spoiler Clearing to Kin-Tara Forsworn Mender cast Imbue Weapon. This beneficial spell can be purged with Tranquilizing Shot—this drops a small glowing weapon on the ground that you can step on and gain... Kin-Tara The two enemies in this fight share a health-pool. You can squeeze out extra damage by keeping Serpent Sting on both targets and aiming Wildfire Bomb to hit both, as well. Clearing to Ventunax Flare can be used to reveal Forsworn Stealthclaw This prevents them from using Pounce! Forsworn Squad-Leader apply Inspiring Presence to all other enemies near them. Due to its peculiar coding Wildfire Bomb does not count as AoE damage! Bombs away. Vetunax If caught out of position during the intermission phase with all the orbs flying around, you can use Aspect of the Eagle to deal damage at range and focus on staying alive. Clearing to Orphyon Forsworn Warden casts Bless Weapon. Once again, you can purge this with Tranquilizing Shot and step over the weapon to steal the buff! Orphyon Anima Surge can be soaked with Aspect of the Turtle if needed. You can even use Aspect of the Cheetah if the orbs are spread out! Clearing to Devos There are not a lot of Survival specific tips here. Keep calm, you’re almost at the last boss! Devos With proper play and positioning, you can save Aspect of the Cheetah and Disengage for the intermission. Your mobility here should help you end the intermission faster and save your healer some precious mana. Plaguefall Spoiler Clearing to Globgrog Fungistorm from the aptly named Fungi Stormer can be interrupted with Freezing Trap or Intimidation. The slimes Plaguebelcher summon with Beckon Slime can be rooted with Binding Shot or slowed with Tar Trap. Globgrog The slow and DoT itself that this boss applies after Plaguestomp can be removed if you are talented into Posthaste and use Disengage. Slimy Smorgasbord can be locked in place with Freezing Trap. Clearing to Doctor Ickus Crushing Embrace can be interrupted with a well placed Freezing Trap or Intimidation. Doctor Ickus Congealed Slime can be locked away from the boss with Freezing Trap. This could be hard to do, however, if the group lacks coordination and AoE is flying all over the place. Clearing to Domina Venomblade Bulwark of Maldraxxus, despite being uninterruptible, can be stopped with the usual suspects of Freezing Trap or Intimidation. Stealthling can be revealed with Flare Domina Venomblade Aspect of the Turtle completely blocks the damage AND stun from Shadow Ambush. Brood Assassin can be revealed and removed from their stealth locations by using Flare, Tar Trap, or even Freezing Trap. Clearing to Margrave Depending on your group’s strategy, Misdirection can be used on the side packs to pull them to the tank. Margrave Stradama Infectious Rain can be blocked with Aspect of the Turtle. Theater of Pain Spoiler Clearing to An Affront of Challengers Raging Tantrum can be immediately stopped with Tranquilizing Shot. An Affront of Challengers Enrage and Spectral Transference can be removed with Tranquilizing Shot. Opportunity Strikes can be stopped with Freezing Trap or Intimidation. Clearing to Xav the Unfallen Demoralizing Shout needs to be interrupted. Xav the Unfallen If selected for the Duel mechanic of this fight, PLEASE do not be that person who uses defensives or heals yourself. By all means do as much damage as you can—the faster the duel ends the better. Saving both charges of Wildfire Bomb for when Oppressive Banner spawns can give you free cleave damage onto Xav as well as remove the banner faster. Clearing to Kul’tharok Bind Soul can be removed with Posthaste. If you find yourself hit by Death Winds and you survive the damage, Harpoon can be used to save yourself. Kul’tharok You can force the channel for Draw Soul to finish with Feign Death. Clearing to Gorechop Withering Discharge is a top priority spell for you to prevent using your tool-kit: Muzzle, Intimidation, or Freezing Trap. Gorechop Take advantage of your ranged capabilities during Meat Hooks mechanic and play it safe. You can fight at ranged by using Serpent Sting on the adds, refreshing it on the boss, and saving Wildfire Bomb for whenever everyone is grouped up. Mordetha, the Endless Empress When the adds summoned by Manifest Death cast, it’s best to interrupt them with Muzzle instead of stunning or freezing them—that way they group up faster and can be all brought down with your potent AoE. Halls of Atonement Spoiler Clearing to Halkias, the Sin-Stained Golem Depraved Houndmaster cast a very dangerous Loyal Beasts. While this can’t be interrupted normally, you can (and should) use Intimidation or Freezing Trap to prevent this. If the cast is somehow successful, you can use Tranquilizing Shot to remove the Enrage buff from the Gargons. it can be a good idea to let Collect Sins from Depraved Collector summon an add before you interrupt it, as you can get bonus value from things such as Hammer of Genesis or First Strike —or even extra CDR from Carve. Halkias, the Sin-Stained Golem if there is an emergency and you need to move through Refracted Sinlight, you can use Aspect of the Turtle. Clearing to Echelon Ankle Bites can be removed with your own AoE with proper positioning. Try to knock Stonefiend Anklebiter off of you ASAP. Echelon This boss has a few Kyrian specific tips. Save Resonating Arrow for Stone Call as the adds will provide you with huge amounts of value (and padding ) with Effusive Anima Accelerator. You can also use Phial of Serenity to cleanse Curse of Stone (ideally, only use this if you are targeted by Stone Shattering Leap. With proper timing, you can use Disengage to avoid the damage from Stone Shattering Leap if you are targeted by it. Make sure you still blow up the petrified adds! Clearing to High Adjudicator Aleez This wing has no unique mobs or any mobs that include Survival specific tips/tricks. High Adjudicator Aleez Ghastly Parishioner can be used for Hammer of Genesis or First Strike. If you are targeted by Ghastly Parishioner and need to lead it to a far away vessel, you can use Aspect of the Eagle to maintain damage. Clearing to Lord Chamberlain If you’re fixated by Manifestation of Envy please group them up with other adds so the room can be optimized for AoE damage. Lord Chamberlain If you need to dodge Telekinetic Toss you can use a combination of Disengage and Harpoon to rapidly dodge and get back in action. Aspect of the Eagle can be useful to dodge Telekinetic Onslaught. Sanguine Depths Spoiler Clearing to Kryxis the Voracious While it isn’t Survival specific advice, a lot of enemies leading up to the first boss either use frontal cones or leave bad things on the ground. As a melee, you need to make sure you’re paying attention to avoid these, especially in such a tight hallway.. Volatile Trap can be safely triggered with Aspect of the Turtle Kryxis the Voracious Juggernaut Rush can be mitigated all on your own with Aspect of the Turtle. After Severing Smash you can use Harpoon to get back to the boss and soak your orb all at once. Clearing to Executor Tarvold Dread Bindings can be removed with Posthaste. (Although, Disengage will give you enough distance to break it on its own.) Executor Tarvol Castigate can be broken with Feign Death if you feign AFTER the initial cast (not the channel) is completed. Otherwise, you can use Aspect of the Turtle BEFORE the initial cast is complete to deflect. With proper timing, you can use Disengage to avoid the damage from Stone Shattering Leap if you are targeted by it. Make sure you still blow up the petrified adds! Clearing to Grand Proctor Beryllia This wing has no unique mobs or any mobs that include Survival specific tips/tricks. Grand Proctor Beryllia Rite of Supremacy can be avoided entirely with Aspect of the Turtle. Clearing to General Kaal This area has no new trash. However, you will be in combat for a very long time with frequent high density pulls. As always, pay special attention to your Wildfire Bomb charges as well as Carve so you’re not wasting good bombs on a pack that will shortly die. General Kaal A well timed Disengage (righht before she hits you) will prevent Wicked Rush from damaging you! If you are knocked off by Gloom Squall you can use Harpoon to get back to the boss and avoid falling to death. Lower Tazavesh Spoiler Clearing to Zo'Phex Tranquilizing Shot can be used on Hard Light Baton from the Customs Security as well as Refraction Shield from Support Officer. Beam Splicer can be avoided with Aspect of the Turtle. Boss: Zo'phex Disengage or Aspect of the Cheetah The Courtyard Trash Intimidation can be used on Cartel Muscle during Chronolight Enhancer Boss: Myza's Oasis Do not take the Vocals or Drums instrument Make sure you are behind Zo'gron when they use Crowd Control. If for whatever reason you find yourself in front of the boss before the effect ends, Aspect of the Turtle can protect you. Boss: Mailroom Mayhem Money Order can be soaked with Aspect of the Turtle. Disengage (with Posthaste), Aspect of the Cheetah make both Unstable Goods and Hazardous Liquids easier to manage. Boss: The Grand Menagerie If your group is struggling with Flagellation Protocol, save Coordinated Assault and your Covenant ability to help burst down the shield. This encounter really likes making you run out of bad areas. Use Disengage to make this easier. Boss: So'azmi Aspect of the Turtle can be used to negate Shuri. Make sure you are behind Zo'gron when they use Crowd Control. If for whatever reason you find yourself in front of the boss before the effect ends, Aspect of the Turtle can protect you. Upper Tazavesh Spoiler Clearing to Hylbrande and Timecap'n Hooktail The Murloc trash will run away in fear at 20% or less HP. You can help manage this with Tar Trap and Binding Shot. Boss: Hylbrande Disengage can be used to rapidly avoid Purged by Fire. Boss: Timecap'n Hooktail Disengage and Aspect of the Cheetah should be used if you are targeted by Spirit Walk to stay away from ship. We haven't fought a traditional dragon in a while...avoid the front and the back. Clearing to So'leah There are a lot of dangerous casts coming from the trash as you clear to the final boss. Coordinated interrupts are very helpful here, but be sure to do your very best to interrupt abilities with Muzzle. Intimidation and even Freezing Trap can be used. Be sure Reinvigorate is interrupted. If Reinvigorate is successful, you can use Tranquilizing Shot. Boss: So'leah In the second phase, you can use Aspect of the Cheetah to help position yourself behind your relic for Hyperlight Jolt.
